If there was one criticism that you could level at Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, it was that its setting was incredibly drab and boring. Okay, so when you think of Mordor you think of volcanos and ashlands and a lot of grey rock, but a few creative risks would have been appreciated.
Fortunately, the game's sequel, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, looks way more environmentally interesting. The title's latest trailer gives us a brief look at its open world, showcasing a load of varied locations. That said, we're still not overly impressed by the game's graphics - it all just looks a bit rough doesn't it? Hopefully the visuals will be polished up before its August release.

I'm a little concerned they're going to go overboard and put TOO much stuff in this game. The last one did have a boring world, but it was also teetering the edge on collectibles and tower climbing antics. Hopefully they find a way to take the Nemesis system and combat to the next level, make the world better, and keep the collectibles in check.
"For the Bright Lorrrrdddd"
Always makes me laugh and I dont know why.
I will probably wait for the Definitive or GOTY year version before I fork out for this one
I will get this at some point, but not sure it is an Aug buy with the way my current playlist and back log is at the moment. Fortunately now that I got Injustice yesterday nothing is no the horizon to buy for the next few months.
I think this game should be coming out NEXT August. It looks like they might be rushing it to capitalize on the first game's unexpected level of success. Not a smart move.
@glassmusic it's been like three years since the first one came out
@dark_knightmare2 That's not a lot of time for a game this ambitious.
I for one am looking forward to this. But keeping my hype as low as possible. As I did the same with the first and it easily exceeded my expectations. Don't wanna burden this game with too high of expectations it realistically can not reach.
Hmm... it doesn't look that bad too me. Maybe I need to watch the trailer on a bigger screen and not my phone. I did enjoy the first one. Probably not a day 1 pickup
"its setting was incredibly drab and boring"
Yeah I remember not being very impressed when I first started playing it but soon forgot as I got further into it. Glad the sequels environments are improved though!
