Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is entering its open beta phase next week on PlayStation 4, developer CD Projekt Red has announced. Starting on the 24th May, you'll be able to hit the beta up on the PlayStation Store and get it downloading. There's currently no word on when the beta will end.
For those out of the loop, Gwent is the addictive little card game found in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It was so popular with fans that the Polish studio decided to turn it into a full game, complete with rebalanced rules, loads of cards to collect, online multiplayer, and even its own story mode. As far as we know, it's supposed to be pretty darn good.
Will you be giving Gwent a try? Go ahead and build an overpowered deck in the comments section below.

YAY! I felt so left out with closed beta on Xbone/PC all this time...really looking forward to this.
I was looking forward to this a long time ago, but I kind of feel that ship has sailed for me.
As a former Magic the Gathering fan, this has peaked my interest. Is this going to be a "free to play" game where you'll need to buy packs?
I still have The Witcher 3 GOTY edition unopened from Christmas so not sure whether I should try the Beta or just wait until I've started the game.
I played this on Xbox I think and it's a lot of fun
I could never get into Gwent when playing The Witcher but have always fancied getting into a card game.
I always hoped that Hearthstone would see a console release but that doesn't look like it's on the cards.......see what I did there
@dkxcalibur Yes. But from what I've played of the Beta on PC the currency system is a bit more fair than other games. At the moment you can earn currency for things like winning rounds in a match or winning, winning a certain amount in one day or ranking up. When you do buy a keg, you get a choice between three rarer cards. Also, you can mill cards you don't want to make scrap so you can create new ones without using real life currency.
Also, they'll be including a single player campaign. Whether that'll be free or not I don't know, but CD Projekt Red are very good to players. From what I saw of it of Gamescom last year it looked impressive.
