PlayStation Anthology Book 1

PlayStation recently reached the point where it tipped into nostalgic territory. The brand has been at the top of its game for over 20 years now, and there are many, many people – this author included – who have been there from the very beginning. The PlayStation Anthology, a 440-page tome to one of gaming's greatest institutes, aims to plot the progress of Sony's scrappy start-up to world beater.

In addition to a ton of information on the history of the Japanese giant, it also delves into the launch of the PSone and beyond. You can expect to find interviews from some of the 32-bit era's most prominent names, including Jason Rubin of Naughty Dog fame. In addition, there's a look at various pieces of hardware, and a collector's guide.

The book's on Kickstarter now and will set you back €40 (~$42) for your own copy. The project as a whole requires €40,000 to succeed, but is already half-way there with just under a month left to run. One thing worth noting is that this is actually a translation of a series of books which launched in France, so the project is already 95 per cent complete. If successful, it'll ship in September.
