Uncharted's still a hyper-linear game, but there were signs in A Thief's End that Naughty Dog wanted to blow out the scale of the release. And it's going to go one bigger in spin-off The Lost Legacy, confirming in a PlayStation Blog post that it's included the largest area in the series' history in the standalone story.
"The game will benefit from an updated production process that can see up to five teams working on one location at a time," the aforementioned blog post explains. "This translates into a sprawling level with traversal challenges, environmental puzzles, shootouts, and more. It's honeycombed with secrets too, with new hidden treasures that will reward persistent players who try to traverse everything."
For those who don't know, the game's set in India around about a year after the events of Uncharted 4, and sees fan favourite Chloe Frazer paired with mercenary Nadine Ross following the fall of Shoreline. The pair are in pursuit of a priceless relic named the Tusk of Ganesh, but a mysterious warlord named Asav aims to get in their way.
While the campaign won't be as long as Uncharted 4's, the developer's promising that it will far exceed the scale of The Last of Us: Left Behind. And while there's no word on a release date just yet, it does seem like the package is still very much slated for a 2017 launch. Personally, we absolutely can't wait for more Uncharted – but what about you?

I will definitely get this.
Will i get this for free of i bought the triple pack at the launch of U4?
@viciousarcanum The Season Pass thing? Yes you will get it for free.
My body is ready for more. Really hope this is good. Wonder if we will get a drake cameo in some shape or form - and no Sam!
@Rob_230 No Drake cameo at all according to the blog post.
How is this being sold then if they are saying it's kinda sorta short, full price retail or a budget price download?
Glad to see them expanding the area size. U4 was probably the most beautiful and lifelike game I've ever played, and it did a great job of masking it's linearity with it's area width, but an actual large scale area would be awesome. I haven't played the new(er) Rise of the Tomb Raider yet but the reboot had that 1 large central area to traverse which was nice among all of that world's scripted linearity.
Thanks for listing when this game takes place, I thought it was going to be a younger Chloe before she meets Drake, or before U2. I really don't like Nadine.
Here's some CB dishing on the game. I really need to rewatch Farscape someday.

@rjejr so my understanding is that it will be both a download (and included in the season pass if you bought that) and also on shelves as a retail release - I reckon it will be somewhere in the region of 15 to 25 pounds for the disc version. They have said that its shorter than uncharted 4 but longer than the dlc for the last of us. I reckon we should expect in the region of 5 to 8 hours.
Really recommend Rise of the Tomb Raider btw. Its still fairly linear but plenty of open areas to explore, and it looks and plays beautifully. One of my favourites from last year.
@get2sammyb thanks Sammy - guess thats to be expected!
It won't be full-price. I think it'll be $40.
Not interested in anymore Uncharted, I'm half expecting Last of Us 2 to be open world at this rate though.
@kyleforrester87 I very much doubt it, Naughty Dog know an open world ends up compromising the story.
@Rob_230 RoTR is on the list. I keep seeing it on sale for $25 but then of course that's just the old X1 version, PS4 version I think is still closer to $60. But it should be played at some point this year.
@KratosMD I bought The Order for $5, still haven't played it yet. Got U4 w/ my PS4 Slim for $218 plus tax. Not sure what I'll pay for this.
@kyleforrester87 it'll probably be a semi-open-world.
Cannot wait for this.
No
@get2sammyb that would sweeten the deal! I'm intrigued by this.
