At some point later this year, Diablo III will be getting a whole new playable character class in the form of the Necromancer. We don't have too much to go on when it comes to analysing this corpse-raising warrior, but at least Blizzard seems to enjoy drip feeding us new information. In an official blog post, the developer goes over its 'Meleemancer' build, which essentially sees the Necromancer go up close and personal with a range of melee techniques.

From ghostly, long-reaching scythes to a explosive blood novas, it sound like a fun style of play, and even though you're going to be right up in the faces of your foes, you can still fall back on good old necromancy if you wish. Blood golem summoning is on the agenda, and you can devour enemy corpses to refuel your resources.

Now, let's get into the broader state of things. Blizzard says that there's still no confirmed release date for the Necromancer, but the studio is currently targeting the latter half of 2017. What's more, the Necromancer won't be part of any expansion, but he/she will be featured in a 'content pack' that will also include an in-game pet, cosmetic wings, and two additional character slots. However, the developer isn't ready to put a price on this pack just yet.

It seems like we've still got a reasonably long wait before we can get our bloody hands on the Necromancer, then, but are you too bothered? Don't get too dark in the comments section below.
