Japanese magazine Famitsu is not necessarily the most reliable source for review scores given the various scandals and rumours that have emerged questioning its integrity over the years. That said, it's the only publication to print a score for PlayStation 4 console exclusive [Quieten down, pedants, we know it's coming to the PC – Sammy] NieR Automata.
And it's done well for itself – or, at the very least, publisher Square Enix reckons it's worth a few bungs. The game scored 39/40, which means that it secured three tens and a nine from Famitsu's infamous four-person panel. Based on what we played of the demo, we can certainly see it being deserving of those marks – but it's best to wait for a more trusted verdict before getting too excited.

Nice, although as mentioned Famitsu's scoring should be taken with a pinch of salt at best
@kyleforrester87 True. I mean let's not forget that they gave Demon's Souls a 29 while a 36 to Umbrella Corps. 36!
without wanting to Sound disrespectful towards Famitsu and their Ratings but ... remember .. they gave "Umbrella Corps" the almost same score (36/40) ... not to be taken all too serious thats what I want to say "coughcough
@SoulsBourne128 Haha I didn't know that. Christ.
I like the concept of letting 4 people score a game, unfortunately Famitsu has the integrity of a South African politician these days.
Taking it with a bit of salt, game looks good though.
ign sucks so it's not reliable source.review scores from them looks shady
To put Famitsu scores into perspective, Persona 5 was also 39/40 and Final Fantasy XV was 40/40. I'll just take this as "the game is good".
@JoeBlogs Excellent point. xD
@SoulsBourne128
They need to be shut down for that Umbrella Corps rating.
