PSX 2016: Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Brings Despair to PS4, Vita in 2017

You know that Sony's PlayStation Experience 2016 showcase was packed when you end up completely forgetting about games like Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. The third main instalment in Spike Chunsoft's deliciously dark visual novel detective series, we've got high hopes for a great cast of characters and a storyline stuffed with intrigue.

Anyway, the title got a short new trailer at Sony's event which we've embedded above. It's coming to both PlayStation 4 and Vita in 2017.

Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.

Are they going to tie this into the older games, I wonder, or is this an alternate continuity?

@Ralizah They've said that it's a totally new story removed from the first two games, but I'm torn between believing them and moving on, and believing that they're trying to pull the wool over our eyes. I'd like it to be connected since I love those stories and I want to see how they'll pan out - in game form, not with the anime - but I guess it makes more sense commercially to start anew on PS4.

@johncalmc Yeah, I know, but I'm still not sure what that actually means. It could mean that it takes place in a different part of the same universe, but has no connection to the Hope's Peak saga. It could also mean the game is a reboot.
