It didn't show up during the PlayStation Experience as we predicted, but it looks like last week's leak was right - Dragon Quest Heroes II is indeed heading West on PlayStation 4. The action role-playing sequel is supposedly a real step forward from its predecessor, offering tweaked combat, more playable characters, bigger battles, larger environments, and even online co-op for up to four players.
Dragon Quest Heroes II slashes its way to European shores on the 28th April, while North America gets it on the 25th April. Be sure to watch the announcement trailer that we've embedded above to help pass the time.

Yesssssss.
I loved the first one and can't wait for this too, but I am not sure for day 1. It will depend on how much I'll still play Persona 5
YES!
About time I really enjoyed the original.
Hooray! April will be busy between this and Persona.
This is definitely getting delayed. No chance they are going head to head with P5.
The first one had its flaws, but it's probably my favourite Musou game.
Two DQ Warriors games. Berserk and the Band of the Hawk. Hyrule Warriors.
Bleh! Too many musou spinoffs to catch up on.
I just leave the Band of the Hawk and i don't own a Nintendo console.
"online co-op"
Online?!?! grumble grumble grumble Why is Sony so opposed to selling extra controllers and letting me have fun on the couch w/ my wife and kids?
Wait, that's the whole title, DQII? No ridiculously long unnecessary subtitle like the first game? Well that's a relief.
@rjejr Helldivers and Diablo 3 are excellent couch co op games, both 4 player. I guess it depends on the age of your children and what you consider too gory, as they're both up there in violence and such.
@RedMageLanakyn Thanks. I keep hearing about Helldivers but never looked into it. Diablo 3 is a strong possibility, maybe when they get a little older. We have played Gauntlet and that Gauntlet wannabe on PS3, Dark Legends or something, but graphics were a little different back then.
I'm sure somebody will play Knack 2, and maybe even Knack 1, but it hurts my head saying I'm spending $40 for a 2nd controller for Knack.
The Vita version is not localised for some bizarre reason.
@rjejr I didn't even think of the added cost for controllers, i have two and i keep one charged while playing with the other. If you're coming from PS3, it really sucks because you'll only get 7 hours max out of a DS4, whereas a DS3 promised at least 20. I would recommend an external usb hub and some lengthy micro usb cables if you plan on lengthy multiplayer gaming sessions!
@RedMageLanakyn "If you're coming from PS3, it really sucks because you'll only get 7 hours max out of a DS4, whereas a DS3 promised at least 20"
We have 3 or 4 PS3 controllers - have had to PS3 for many years now - and I rarely worry about charging. 7 hours could be a serious issue though. Would you happen to know if the DS4 are as finicky at charging as the DS3, which required a special handshake or something? I've put in a lot of hours over the past 3 years on my Wii U, talk about bad battery life, Gamepad is about 3 hours tops, but I always play in my favorite reclining sofa spot, Gamepad plugged in while I play, so it's not a big deal for me. If I have to plug the DS4 into the PS4 that is gonna suck, my 10' cord barely reaches my PS3. But I have several of those UBS plugs I could use if DS4 let me.
Looking forwards to this.
@rjejr The DS4 can be charged anywhere that has a micro USB plug, which is a different plug from the DS3. I usually plug my DS4 into my cell phone charger, takes about 2-3 hours to charge fully. The light bar will pulse orange until it is done. I hear you on the wii u gamepad. I caught one of the larger batteries on a sale and can now get a good 5 to 6 hours if i have the brightness set to 2. I mainly use the pro controller for most games due to the battery life and discomfort of staring down at the gamepad for an hour or so. But if i use it for, say, an extended twilight princess session, it comes in handy for a map to glance at.

Thanks, that's great news, we have a dozen of those laying around. Weird they changed it from the DS3 charger size but who can keep track of USB sizes. But I'll take a standard size any day over the Vita memory card.
SWEET! i loved the first game
i'm so glad Square are bringing more Dragon Quest games out over here, now we just need proper releases of DQ 1,2 & 3 not stupid android/ios versions
@rjejr Yeah...those vita memory cards will definitely not be missed if sony ever does another handheld. I understand why they did it, in order to cut down on piracy, but if you're gonna do something like that, make sure it can be accomplished without punishing the customers by charging stupid crazy prices!
@rjejr Diablo 3 all day bro, dont even consider anything else its pointless.
I really dislike DQH and that's from a man who loves Gundam warriors, One piece warriors 3 and DW in all its guises. The story in DQH is so appalling I cant fathom why everyone rates it.
Oh I am SO getting this day one.
@rjejr
Oh man, the Wii U gamepad battery life was horrid out the box. I bought the gig capacity extended battery from the online store... best money I ever spent. I get 5-8 hours on my Gamepad now, which is basically what a Dualshock 4 gives you.
I'm used to 7 hour battery life. Between my gamepad and DS4 both around 7 hrs on average, it's not a big deal. I do keep a spare controller docked though, so if one runs low I just dock it and grab the other. Easy peasy.
Excellent! I loved the first one.
@JaxonH I'm surprised you didn't upgrade your Gamepad to a naval nuclear reactor to keep up w/ your bionic Wii U.
Hopefully I can get a wire to my chair. Or tell my kids they have to chip in to buy their own and then we share.
@themcnoisy "The story in DQH is so appalling I cant fathom why everyone rates it."
Well hopefully either I or one of my sons will like it, we have similar tastes but not exactly. I picked it up BF for $10 so between the 3 of us we have a shot at getting our money's worth anyway.
Finally! Took them long enough.
