Sony's support for the PlayStation 4 Pro can be described as "scattershot" at best. It's one of the system's biggest shortcomings right now; while games undoubtedly look and run better on the brand new box, not enough titles take advantage of it yet. This will change as we lurch into 2017 and support becomes mandatory, but right now, it's a bit up in the air.

Which is why Knack's latest patch comes as a bit of a surprise, with more popular releases like Bloodborne and Until Dawn left to wilt on the first-party tree. We suppose that both of those games were developed externally where Knack wasn't, but still… Knack? Well, okay then, some people liked it – so how does it run on the PS4 Pro?

Eh, the improvements aren't great to be honest. You can select between a High Resolution or High Framerate mode, but this can only be picked when you first boot the game; it can't be changed once you're actually into the thick of the action. And the improvements aren't great: the former looks cleaner and the latter that little bit smoother, but not to a noticeable degree.

We doubt that much effort went into this update – it's an ancient game that we can't imagine many still play – but that just makes us ponder why the platform holder bothered at all? Surely it could have invested those resources into an update for Bloodborne or a more popular first-party game? The company confuses sometimes – but that keeps us in a job, we guess.
