This is a nice touch from Activision: everyone can download Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's free Jackal Assault Experience virtual reality demo from the PlayStation Store now. There's no catch either; you don't need a pre-order or a Call of Duty game in your disc drive – it's scary that we have to clarify these things, but that's a sign of the times.

To be fair, it's not really worth any money: it's a five to ten minute demo in which you circle giant space freighters, dispatching missiles in the general direction of an enemy fleet. But it looks very nice on the PlayStation VR headset – the sense of immersion is strong, and while we've read motion sickness horror stories on other sites, we felt quite comfortable throughout.

It's fun. You're probably not going to play it more than twice, but you can't grumble with free unless you have bandwidth caps. And even then, at just over 1GB in size, we reckon that this is still worth a download if you have Sony's futuristic facemask just sitting around. Kudos to Activision for making something cool and actually giving it away without a catch.
