A friendly reminder for all of you with active PlayStation Plus subscriptions: the price of the service will increase in the United States and Canada starting tomorrow. You won't be charged any extra money until your membership lapses, but we figured that it was worth positing a subtle reminder should you be due to be charged any time soon.

Starting tomorrow, the annual subscription price will raise to $59.99 USD / $69.99 CAD, while the quarterly sub will cost you $24.99 USD / $29.99 CAD. Those of you who pay monthly will still only have to shell out $9.99 USD in the United States, but Canadians will have to pod out $11.99 CAD. You can get 12 months membership for as low as $49.99 from Amazon right now, and subs do stack.

The price of the PlayStation Plus membership will not change in Europe or Japan at this time, so it's very much a North American tweak for now. It's perhaps worth mentioning that, while extremely disappointing, the hike does put it in line with Xbox Live Gold, which has cost more than PlayStation Plus since its inception.
