Sony released some screenshots of PlayStation 4 firmware update v4.00 yesterday, and we figured that we'd pick them apart in a super simple video for you. While we don't have access to any video footage yet – we'll get that when the beta goes live, no doubt – there's a lot to glean from the refresh's first batch of screenshots.

One thing of interest we noticed is the new default background – a glittery, bokeh effect similar to the animated wallpaper employed on the PlayStation 3. There's also a glimpse of the new customisable Quick Menu and the kind of things that you can include on it, as well as a look at the updated profile page, which has gone a bit Facebook.
