The Elder Scrolls VI will be revealed when it's ready to release, Bethesda's Pete Hines has told PC Gamer. "You're not going to be hearing first details on [Elder Scrolls VI] years before the game comes out, absolutely not," Hines insists.

Of course, this is nothing new for the studio. When head honcho Todd Howard first revealed The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the announcement trailer came with a release date at the end of it. Likewise, when the company finally unveiled Fallout 4 after years of rumours and speculation, it whipped out a launch date at E3 in the very same month. As far as we're concerned, this is the way that it should be done - and yes, we're looking at you, Final Fantasy XV.

All that we know about The Elder Scrolls VI right now is that it's in development, but if you're eager to get your hands on some Elder Scrolls action, it's worth remembering that the Skyrim remaster is out on PS4 in October.

When do you think we'll hear about the next game? 2017? 2018? Place your bets in the comments section below.
