Knights versus samurai versus vikings. That's not a bad concept for a game, and we're hopeful that For Honor, Ubisoft's melee-based battle-'em-up, will live up to expectations. The gritty title's received a new gameplay trailer at Gamescom which spotlights the three abovementioned factions - and to us, it's still looking like one of the publisher's most promising projects.
For Honor is due on PlayStation 4 in February next year, but if you're keen to get in on the action sooner, an alpha will be held on Sony's platform next month. You can sign up for it through here.

I like the look of this, and I think it's a great concept, but its success will be determined by how it controls. Looking forward to trying it out!
People will draw comparisons with Dark Souls since you can be all 3 and more in FromSoft's game. The question is, will the battle be better? I can almost guarantee that the majority of the people interested in For Honor, want it for its PvP aspect and not "story" or anything like that.
Anything but Vikings (kind of meh to me), and Samurai 4 life! Hell yeah!!!!!
This game looks like the best thing from Ubisoft since Ass Creed II, which was long time ago!
That said, as in Nioh, a bit more of blood and gore would do fine!
And I hope a progressive story, not just a separated story for each faction!
And may we get a new faction as DLC? Probably yes.
This looks great! Love all of it, and can't wait to try out the morning star. Looks like something that would require a bit of skill.
Ty for the heads up, looked interesting wouldn't mind trying the alpha.
Just curious, but which faction did you guys chose and does that mean that you can only play as that faction during the alpha? I'm going to pick the Samurai but at the same time I would also like to try out the other two factions as well.
