Surprise! The game that no one asked for, Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps, is shaping up to be something of a stinker. Capcom recently announced that the competitive shooter spin-off will boast a couple of maps based upon Resident Evil 2, which should be a reason for real hype. However, seeing the claustrophobic arenas in action via this exclusive Eurogamer.net video should douse your enthusiasm.
It looks… Rubbish – and we don't just mean visually. It's the movement that strikes us – it looks unbelievably stiff, like the person playing is wrestling with the DualShock 4. The game's due out next month, so there's very little time for publisher Capcom to fix it. Let's hope that the rumoured Resident Evil 7 is a lot, lot better than what's on display here, eh?

I had low expectations going into this video and even then it was worse than I thought it'd be. Never been a big fan of third person shooters than switch to first person when you aim - and it's jarring here. The camera's so close to the player in third person that it seems unnecessary to begin with.
Why did they even bother. It looks absolutely awful. It's a pity they have taken the franchise in this direction. Resident Evil is not and should not be a team based shooter. Surely Capcom knows this.
It could be a laugh? Quite enjoyed the raid missions on RER2 etc..more fun to play than it looks.
@kyleforrester87 Don't hold your breath. I also like the Raid missions in RER2, but that game has a nice feel to its controls, etc. That doesn't appear to be the case here, but we'll see.
What I don't get is that they already tried something similar with Operation Raccoon City, and it bombed. The Resident Evil 2 maps only make it feel more cynical to me. This is bloody atrocious. I hope all those involved forgo pudding for the next week.
@get2sammyb Agree RER2 does have a nice feel to it, but I wonder if that feeling is visibly apparent, as when I think about it the gameplay still had that classic RE clunkiness about it. I doubt this'll be much cop but it might be fun to play once the pad is in your hands.
Having not played RER2 and only watching gameplay it doesnt look great to control but it doesnt change the fact no one wanted this and Capcom should know better
They would've been better making a new Mercenaries or Raid Mode that this giant pile of waste.
Yeah when I saw this only like £20 I gave up on it.
Cool,just what I was waiting for,another really rubbish game that I won't be buying..ever.
Ah clearly they brought back tank controls, its just harder to tell in 3rd person*
*not really
@stevie85 One word: MONEY. No wonder this game is coming exclusively to the Ps4 and Pc (another mediocre console exclusive is coming to the Ps4 with no fixes or enhancements. Just GREAT). And seeing that the problems weren't yet fixed, I have a feeling the game will suffer the same as Hardware Rivals and Shadwen: didn't even bother to fix the issues because all they cared is money, money and more money.
I just want Resident Evil 7, Deep Down, Dragon's Dogma 2/Online and a Playstation Monster Hunter game already.
@SoulsBourne128 Looking forward to Resident Evil 7 to. Hopefully it's completely different to 6.
Tragic.
I'll be playing this while everyone else is playing Overwatch
I was mildly excited over this but watching it in action no , maybe if itwas for 10 dollars , but still just no. Theres still 7 days to die coming out next month to get my zombie on.
It looked kind of fun when I first saw it, but now it looks so awful. What is with that aiming? What were they thinking? It's like they couldn't decide if they wanted it to be an FPS or a TPS. I kind of wanted it, but now no. No way.
What's up with that camera?
Capcom....seriously Capcom... Just f*cking STOP
Wow... graphics is okay, But the movement & mechanism feels like a game from Half Life era...
