Sony chief Shawn Layden may find himself sitting on Activision boss Bobby Kotick's naughty step right now, because it seems that the PlayStation Store has leaked the name of the next Call of Duty game. In development at Infinity Ward and set to be revealed next week, it looks like the next entry in the billion dollar brand is subtitled Infinite Warfare. Really, guys?
No other information is available right now, but it makes sense that the platform holder would have a page ready to go ahead of an impending reveal – it signed a multi-year partnership with Activision pertaining to the property recently. It's possible that Infinite Warfare may be set in the same universe as Modern Warfare, but we don't believe this was the case with Advanced Warfare, so perhaps not.
Either way, rumours suggest that this entry may take the series in a sci-fi direction. It's surely only a matter of time before all of the intel leaks.

Seem like IW has abandoned ship on Ghosts...I hope they at least continue the storyline. With all these disjointed entries, it's less appealing to get invested into the singleplayer world, which I felt was a great driving force through Modern Warfare and Black Ops (1 and 2, at least).
I'm calling it now, Call of Stratos: Infinite Warfare.

@nyarth They won't ever go back to Ghosts, I don't think. I rather enjoyed that one, too, but the reception was too negative.
Still happy with Black Ops 3 honestly. Though, I always prefered Treyarch to I.W. when it comes to CoD games.

On topic I'm tired of Sci-fi shooters so purchase dependant on reviews for this one.
Need to just go thee way of tom clancy already, and title games as ," Call of Duty's: Infinite War " . That way the could keep the brand going but be brave enough to branchnout to other ideas
Its based on the endless war in what we know now as the middle east, alluded to in the book 1984 by George Orwell.
And just like that book, COD needs a stint in room 101.
