Sony's press conference at the Game Developers Conference today was all about PlayStation VR, but it did take a moment to commit to 2016 release dates for The Last Guardian and Horizon: Zero Dawn. While this information is not exactly unexpected, it's been a while since we heard about either game, so it's nice to hear that both titles are still on track.
With Uncharted 4: A Thief's End also set to release in May, it's shaping up to be a big year for first-party PlayStation 4 games, which is refreshing after a couple of dry years. With the likes of No Man's Sky and Ratchet & Clank also in its stable, the platform holder will be feeling pretty confident about the coming months.

Hey Sammy,
Well now I have 2 more games to pre order and enjoy this year. It's going to be a great year for the PlayStation Nation!
Cheers!!!!

Last Guardian for this year yes but I still think Horizon is early 2017.
Well, I thought neither game would release this year, so this only tickles my ears.
I figure it's going to be 50-50 so if at least one of these games releases this year I'll say we're doing good.
I am pleased to hear that Horizon is still on track for this year. After U4 that's the next and really only other PS4 exclusive (currently) that interests me and my most anticipated new IP. As long as it isn't 'rushed' out to meet the Holiday season before it is properly finished, I will be happy. I know we haven't heard a lot but it has been in development for quite a while now.
In Horizon's defense, Sony doesn't really have a reputation for forcing first party developers to release a game at the expense of quality. Horizon looks amazing, albeit given the ambition of it, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets delayed into 2017 (hopefully not).
I'm also looking forward to The Last Guardian, but, I'm not sure if it's my type of game or not (I was an Xbox player during the PS2 gen), but I'll still give it a try.
Oddly enough, I'm more confident in The Last Guardian releasing this year than Horizon Zero Dawn.
Yeah, I'm going to call bullsh*t on this. Sony's first-party teams haven't exactly brought their A game to this gen in terms of efficiency or quality.
Well I'm only really excited for no mans sky so I don't much care when the rest release, should be a good year though.
People seem to forget that Horizon has been in development for a LONG time. Since about the start of development for Shadow Fall. I felt pretty confident all along it would make it this year. TLG is a different beast altogether though. Who knows what state that game is in, but I still firmly believe it will be an awesome experience as well.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Dude I am right there with you. It has been my most wanted game since I got a ps4 the Christmas it launched. FINALLY was able to get me limited edition preorder in with Best Buy. For those that seem to be nit picking, I honestly haven't see or read anything that makes me think anything other than it will be an all time great. Looks like a TRUE next generation experience, and could be a watershed moment for gaming in general. It looks that good.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi BTW did you see the leaked screenshot for NMS showing the Dialogue choices with an NPC? You could tell the player hadn't learned all of that language yet so only a few words were translated and from that he has to try and choose a correct answer, so awesome. And the character on screen looked AMAZING in its space suit.
@SonyInfinity gonna try and not see too much more to be honest, I wanna be blown away and have plenty of surprises, the dialogue system sounds amazing though
Uh huh. Right.
I think this is self explanatory.
Too good to be true...
You gotta do what? I gotta believe!
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm drinking the Last Guardian Koolaid. I feel there is no way Sony can drop the ball on getting this out this year, but I could easily see Horizon falling into the same trap as the Order or UC4 and ending up Q1 or Q2 of 2017. Personally I'd love both to be out, but we'll just have to wait and see.
