Always one to tout his exclusive dealings, Geoff Keighley has revealed that next month's The Game Awards will feature our first ever look at Far Cry Primal gameplay. The newest instalment in Ubisoft's series takes a step into the prehistoric past, and it's slated to release on the 23rd February 2016.
So far, all that we've seen of the title is a few screenshots and a teaser trailer, so we're hoping for something relatively meaty. Is this one on your radar? Bring your stone tipped spears into the comments section below.

With Ubisoft's current track record of repetitive open world objectives, I don't think I'm going to get this.
Cant believe Ubisoft are hijacking our forum goty! Haha.
Its impossible to get excited by another open world ubisoft game. Regardless of the epoch or region - the templates the same.
Well, I'm excited! I love Far Cry, and this is a severely under-represented setting in video games. My brother pre-ordered it for me for my birthday, so I'm really looking forward to taking a journey into an age of mammoths and sabre-toothed cats come February
Did people find melee combat in previous far cry games fun? I didn't think it was bad but I don't know if I'd want to do bows and clubs all game.
@sonicmeerkat It wasn't really viable in Far Cry 4 in my experience...there were stealth melee kills, but if they know you're there, you'd run up to an enemy and just get clobbered and fall back down. Nothing you could really do. It honestly was very difficult even trying to take out one decent human enemy with it, in my experience.
I do love the game, but that system will require some serious reworking to be fun in Primal. I'm confident they'd be able to, though! It's a good team with a proven track record.
I only recently finished Far Cry 4 and that was after a replay of Far Cry 3. I enjoyed them but I got Far Cry fatique. I agree that the combat would really need to be overhauled to give it an edge. I suspect that instead of ripping down posters, the player will be spending a lot of time collecting cave paintings instead.
