Yes, we totally resorted to a stock photo

It's surely not the weekend again? The weeks seem to fly by of late – but perhaps that's because we're having so much fun. There have been tons of new releases recently, keeping our team appropriately busy. Here's everything that we're playing right now, but do chip in with your own selections in the comments section below.

Oh God, it's October already, which means a whole new ridiculous review season is upon us. Should I even bother trying to clear out games that I still haven't fully finished? Destiny says no.

This weekend I intend on finally wrapping up Venom Snake's human right-infringing Fulton extraction binge. If I can tear myself away from Side-Ops for just five minutes, I might actually achieve my dream.

This weekend, I'll be dusting off my Vita and busting a groove playing Persona 4: Dancing All Night. I'll also be returning to Destiny yet again, as I've finally got my Warlock above the 290 light level, and might just be ready for the King's Fall raid.

This weekend, I'll be playing Persona 4: Dancing All Night after my Disco Fever Edition got shipped early. I can't wait to get reacquainted with the familiar faces of my favourite game characters, though I am slightly concerned about playing a rhythm game given my total lack of coordination.

I don't need an excuse to shuffle through mounds of retro gaming magazines, but Push Square's recent PSone feature by Paul Davies – the former editor of CVG – sparked me to flick through a bunch of classic EMAP publications. This in turn led to me contentedly reading the Mega Drive Castle of Illusion review in Issue 5 of Mean Machines, kindling a rainbow bridge to appear in my mind, and a sudden urge to play its 2013 remake on my PlayStation 3.

I've made substantial progress on Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker this week on my PS3 and got a good feeling I'll be able to clear the story this weekend. While its boss fights and level design leave a lot to be desired, it's still a great title – especially considering it was on the PSP. I think I'll also head on over to my Wii U and finally experience the glorious 8-bit graphics and music of Shovel Knight for myself. Dig onward!

Now that I've finally finished Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, I will get to dig into Tearaway, a game I've had since the day it came out and not touched. I'm also going to check out the Need for Speed beta, as it looks like it could be quite interesting.

Sam Brooke, Reviewer

This weekend I'll be playing The Last of Us Remastered, as I've got plenty of time to clear my backlog. I didn't cry during the start so I'm hopefully good to go, but if things get heavy, I'll always go back to Sound Shapes to calm myself down.

On the single player front I will be playing Mortal Kombat X, which is the first Mortal Kombat game I have been able to get into for a while, and in between that Mega Man 3 on the Mega Man Legacy Collection. Also, I have planned some Diablo III with some guys from work which hopefully I will get my Witch Doctor to Level 70.

And that's all she wrote – but the fun continues in the comments section. What are you playing this weekend? Let us know down below.
