We probably should have seen this one coming. Given the success of Koei Tecmo's Toukiden: The Age of Demons and sort-of-sequel Toukiden Kiwami, it's no surprise that the franchise is moving onto its second iteration with the aptly named Toukiden 2.
All that we have to go on right now is a brief teaser trailer, but the publisher did mention that it's going to adopt an open world formula, which we reckon could put a nice spin on the formula. In any case, it's coming to both the PlayStation 4 and Vita in Japan in 2016, and we have to imagine that it'll be localised next year, too.

Maybe they're getting rid of the separated zones aspect but still retaining the same sort of gameplay? Unlike MH, the demons in Toukiden don't run away so I can see the open world mechanic working.
@WanderingBullet i really hope that's the case, like monster hunter style games but was never really a fan of the segmented stages, a huge open world littered with monsters would be amazing.
In the absence of MH on vita I gave this a stab (no pun intended), and I was really surprised how much time I ended up sinking into it. Colour me happy.
@viciousarcanum Yeah, I really need to get into Toukiden:Kiwami before Toukiden 2 comes now. Bought it but never got the time to play it. I did however unlocked all the stuff for the full game by playing the demo, though.
Hyped! Really hope it doesn't come to Pc since Kiwami didn't played very well on Pc(especially since it doesn't have Cross-play).
Toukiden Kiwami is one of my favorite PS4/Vita games. Really looking forward to this! Curious to see how the open world aspect fits into the genre.
Really wonder how many people Koei Tecmo's making Omega Force have working around the clock to push out all these titles for them. For multiple systems, must be quite the staff huh
