Like a perfectly timed dragon punch, Street Fighter V's up-and-down PlayStation 4 beta clipped the chin of franchise fans overnight, as it went live for a few scant hours. According to the series' official Twitter account, this was due to an internal stress test that publisher Capcom was running, which has now concluded. Exactly when the sample will re-open to the public remains to be seen.
It looks like a second beta is getting closer, though, as the client was recently updated to v1.02, with improvements to the login process and matchmaking logic cited in the patch notes. The previous stress test had to be closed early, after the title's servers crashed. Our man managed to get some time with the game, however, and wrote up some pretty comprehensive impressions, which you can find through here.

Nice, I am excited for this!
I got on trained for about 20 mins then got my first fight! Beat some dude in the US with my run, he was Charlie. Need more!!!
I got on for the first time ever but was just in practice mode. Maybe it's because I've mainly played GG Xrd and BBCPE recently but it felt like moves didn't really combo into each other too regularly. Ryu's standing HP didn't seem to want to combo into a Shoryuken although his 6HP did. Overall I'm just glad to see the back of FA and FADC.
I figured something was up when the game updated for me the other night.
I've stayed away from Beta and Alpha previews as I found myself playing a lot of them this time last year (on pc before the ps4) it was fun initially as there was a sense of community and having an impact on game development. But actually you don't have any impact and the reality is you are playing an unfinished game.
Can't wait to finally play this. I've been playing Injustice for the past couple weeks in order to tide me over for this
Played about 1.5 hours with very few hiccups. Played about 10 online matches and they were buttery smooth for the most part would have played more but it was late and I had to work today -.- Zzzzzzz......
Second beta? We would have to have had a first. These guys are ridiculous. Can they not count how many beta codes they gave out. Seriously pathetic.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi You do know what a BETA is for, right?
@PSIN4MANT it didn't work because of servors strain, this makes zero sense, they knew how many people would be logging on. Useless.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Again, you do know what a BETA is for.
@PSIN4MANT generally when a game reaches beta testing it involves testing all aspects of the game, they got as far as opening beta and then closing beta because they failed to provide adequate servor capacity equivalent to the Bet codes they provided. Waste of time for all.
