As teased earlier in the week, EA has announced Star Wars: Battlefront's flashy Fighter Squadron mode β a dogfighting option which will see you piloting iconic aircrafts such as X-Wings, TIE-Fighters, and, amazingly, the Millennium Falcon online. It's worth stressing that these aren't space battles β they'll take place above the surface of recognisable planets.
The mode sees the Rebel Alliance bearing down on an Imperial transport shuttle, which the Empire team must naturally protect. There'll be 20 computer controlled pilots thrown in just to make things extra interesting. Each ship will have its own special abilities, too. And, of course, it all continues to look and sound amazing on the PlayStation 4.

Pure dogfighting! the clip is beautiful, I hope the game won't be too much graphically downgraded on release.... and the Slave I at the end........
This still doesn't do it for me, sure it looks cool, but it just isn't space. I'll stick to BF2 on PC for now, since it has 128v128. Battlefront's been Battlefielded
Looks cool but I still want just normal space battles with two command ships.
Looks cooool, I'll mainly ground battle anyways, but I don't think not having space battles is that bad.
I think this looked good fun. I know its not quite the Space Battles but having different planets and environments, lighting etc to battle over could be more interesting than fighting in the blackness of space.
I have my edition pre-ordered and hope to see you online...
Hope they're easy to pilot/control. The helicopters in Battlefield 3 were difficult for me.
as freddie and the lads once said " jaws was never my scene - and i don't like star wars"

@WanderingBullet I'm with you there, personally I found the planes a nightmare to fly as well. Haven't played 4 or Hardline, so not sure if they ended up sorting this out.
@SteveButler2210 Yup, the planes for me as well. lol
