There's some serious optics ripping in this brand new trailer for Transformers: Devastation, which has been released right in time for the San Diego Comic Con. In the new clip for the Platinum Games developed brawler, we get a good look at Optimus Prime and Megatron going hammer and tongs – fortunately, there's no Hot Rod to get in the way.
The clip also shows a variety of other characters, including Sideswipe, Bumblebee, and Wheeljack. There's no sign of fifth playable protagonist Grimlock just yet – he's probably busy listening to some of Kup's war stories. The art style remains impressive, but we continue to be concerned by the lack of environmental variety that's been on display so far.

I can't wait for this!!!! This is the transformers game I've wanted since I was 6!
It does look great. Looks like it's coming to last gen consoles as well. Not sure how I feel about that, but I suppose it's Activision just trying to get it to as many people as possible. Come on Platinum, don't let us down!
I won't buy this game if Rodimus is not playable!
@Johnnycide Galvatron isn't so sure - War for Cybertron WAS the best Transformers game thus far; High Moon totally nailed the character and atmosphere, with excellent FPS gameplay and a stellar level featuring, unfortunately, Starscream, flying when transformed. Almost halo-esque that level, and EXACTLY what I wanted.
Whilst Platinum have the melee and transformations down, the backgrounds look quite disappointing and lack immersion - and a but of gravitas as a result.
It's still looking good, but instead of a coronation, this could equally be bad comedy.....
@Galvatron Megatron... I-Is that you?
Sorry lads, but this has got 6/10 written all over it. Hope I'm wrong.
@ShogunRok I see these trailers and fear you may be generous with a 6/10.
I'm in love!
Although I do wish there were more playable characters. Like all of the autobots! Well, except Wheelie. That guy sucks.
this is MOBA/Brawler type of game?
All due respect to Platinum Games, a studio I do like, I wish High Moon was getting a shot at another Cybertron game. Sadly those games, especially Fall of Cybertron, sold like frickin' sh*t so we likely won't be seeing another.
Nice to see that its only priced at 50USD.
I can't decide if this is going to be an A-team knockout like Bayonetta 2, or a B-team letdown like Legend of Korra. If it was a B team let down I would probably still buy it for $20- after all I thought Korra was a great game... for a $15 release.

I can't imagine any excuse not to have a huge roster in this game. 5 characters, all autobots? The least they can do is give us a few post-credits characters to replay the game as.
Secretly hoping Soundwave will somehow be playable.
@Azikira Yup, no multiplayer as well. I'll still probably get it, though.
@Azikira five playable characters and two are Sideswipe & Wheeljack so bad. That means great characters like Grimlock, Ironhide, Jazz, Hound, Mirage, Hot Rod, etc are fighting for one spot. The more I hear and see the less I like about it.
@get2sammyb - here's a hint....(readies his cannons)....
....and instead of lasers, 'Dare' by Stan Bush starts up
@WanderingBullet Wait, no multiplayer?! Are we 100% sure this isn't going to be a $10 download title??
@vegeta11 I'm with you on that. The art style (aside from the generic city) is spot on but everything else is just... So meh...
Honestly there are probably 10+ extra characters already made that will be slowly offered as DLC. That seems to be the way the gaming world works now (outside of Nintendo, specifically Splatoon that just keeps giving and giving).
@Azikira Platinum Games hardly does DLCs/micro transactions stuff but who knows - the game is published by Activision after all.
