Hankering for some hardcore retro action on your new-gen console? If so, look no further than the freshly announced Mega Man Legacy Collection, which includes the original six Mega Man titles. The digital-only package doesn't have a set release date yet, but it's expected to blast onto the PlayStation 4 this summer.
The collection will feature a new challenge mode, which remixes various parts of the six included games, and boasts scaling difficulty levels that should apparently suit the tastes of both veterans and newcomers alike. On top of that, it'll also have leaderboards, replays, and a museum mode, the latter of which sounds a lot like a massive encyclopaedia of all things Mega Man.
Will you be travelling back in time later this year? Take our abilities and use them as your own in the comments section below.
Will probably buy... Dammit, Capcom!
Cool, already have them on my 3DS BUT... if the price is right.
By the way, why not add Mega Man 9 and 10 ? 9 was one of the best of the series IMO right up there with 2 and 3
To quote WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan
YES YES YES!!!!!
I have the AC on the Gamecube still so I will be picking this up for sure. The Mega Man games are my favorite series. I can't count how many times I have rebought them on various systems.
@Swiket They don't even have 7 and 8.
@Tasuki to be fair, 7 and 8 arent 8-bit
I have been hoping this would show up
No Vita version? Boo!
I'd love this. I'd be an easier (and probably quicker) way for me to get into the classic series.
@get2sammyb If Capcom can do one thing, it's getting into your wallet.
The porting is being handled by other ocean, so perhaps a day one purchase isn't the best choice.
I was sort of excited when I read the title, but seeing the games listed, I think I'll give it a pass. Now, give me a Mega Man X legacy collection, and it would probably be day one.
This not coming to WiiU or Vita is weird.
Damn, that music brings back so many memories.
Will get this on PS4 and 3DS without question.
Easy sale. Which megaman has the 8 bosses and you can play their levels in any way you choose? There's too many great games and I have too many kids. Something's gotta give.... :/
@Faruko Yeah but they are part of the classic Mega Man series, and they were included on the Anniversary Collections so it's odd that they aren't included here.
Already have these games on my Nintendo systems.
@Tasuki "Worry not, for the low price of $9.99 you will be able to own those games (Each game sold separately)."
Capcom will say.
They all have 8 bosses and allow you to play them in any order you choose. Except for the first- that game only had 6.
Mega Man 3 was my first video game I ever played back in 1990. It was my absolute obsession as a child along with Sonic the Hedgehog. I will most definitely be grabbing the 3DS version assuming it has stereoscopic 3D. I might be persuaded to pick up the PS4 version as well, if the improvements are worth it. Shame they skipped the Wii U though- there's a lot of Mega Man fans on that console.
@get2sammyb I've bought theses several times over the years. I'm sure I will buy them again here!
@Faruko Lol sad thing is with Capcom I wouldn't be surprised if they did that.
It deserves a normal release, I honestly don`t think many people will be interested. Personally I wish for a physical copy.
