If you've been desperate for PlayStation 4 footage of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, then look no further. Thanks to PlayStation Access, we've finally been granted a proper look at how CD Projekt Red's open world adventure runs on Sony's latest system.
The video shows around five minutes of general gameplay, and we reckon that it looks pretty good. While it's obvious that some bits and pieces are a little less detailed than what you'll find in the PC version of the release, it still looks gorgeous at points, and it appears to run very smoothly to boot.
Check out the video that we've embedded, and let us know how you think it looks in the comments section below.

To be honest, if someone said this footage was running on a top PC, then you Wouldn't disbelieve them. Looks really nice.
And puts the likes of bloodborne to shame in terms of smoothness in motion and FPS.
@Davros79 Bloodborne puts this to shame in many other areas though. Like combat, for example. Quite important for a game like this.
Yes WESKER bloodbornes combat is unsurpassable. I agree. I would argue the witcher has a far more expansive ,interesting ,Varied, interactive and activity filled world though.
HOLY SMOKES. I wasn't going to buy this game at launch but then I saw the beautiful light at the start of this video...
sexy times = mature? pfff
Too much orange 7.5/10 😝😉
@Davros79 But does it have an intriguing story-line, satisfying game-play and motivating incentives to keep you coming back for more? We'll see.
I would say the combat of Witcher games are certainly up there with the best if not more than that of Bloodbourne. Its not all just sword play but also adds 'magic', bombs, traps and a crossbow too (similar in essence to the gun in Bloodbourne). You can also fight on Horseback too.
I would also say that the story is more engaging too and will probably offer more variety in its game play.
Each to their own of course and some will prefer one over the other...
@GraveLordXD You Dont have to say someones opinion is "really bad" just because you personally dont share their view. Thats just being condescending. I suggest you climb down from your high horse.
Everbodys has and is entitled to a opinion .
Bloodborne and Witcher 3 are two different games by two different companies. No need to argue, just enjoy them. I have been looking forward to Witcher 3 for a long time now and Bloodborne has been a great game to tie me over until then.
@GraveLordXD yes i have played bloodborne at length(up to wet nurse) 35 hours in. Like i said earlier bloodbornes combat is "unsurpassable" superb. The witcher world looks to be a far more Varied and interesting place though....
You could argue that without combat, then the souls games and bloodborne offer very little else.
Obviously I haven't played the Witcher 3 yet but I did spend a lot of time playing the Witcher 2. I didn't think the combat was average - although not excellent - it still had a greater depth to it than many other hack 'n' slash games. It still took preparation (creating the right bombs, traps etc), even adding 'poison's' to the blade and picking the right sword for the enemies - steel or silver. Using the right magic sign at the best time too helped the strategy and combat. It still felt fluid and satisfying. Although combat does play a significant part in the game play, its not the focus of the game. Its more about the story and decisions you make. Combat at times is inevitable in such s brutal world and therefore it does play a big role but then so does the moments of conversation, exploring, trading, creating etc.
I am not saying that Bloodbournes combat is weak - far from it but its far more the focus of that game. Timing your shot to stagger your opponent, knowing when to dodge or go for a heavy attack etc are all part of what goes into the combat.
I know Witcher games have all this too and more diverse options as well. To some it may not feel as polished as Bloodbournes or as challenging in some cases either but its focus is very different. You don't buy a Witcher game solely for the Combat
Witcher has a lot more mechanics involved in the overall game, no point in even comparing the two.
I'd sooner say DMC3 has superb combat. While Bloodborne and the Souls games utilize their mechanics well, lock-on still feels clunky, there arent many combos (other than equipment switching) and what is there feels kinda slow. Now if it had 60fps with a host of ridiculous combos and air juggling, then I'd put it in the superb category.
@BertoFlyingFox So bloodborne an the witcher aren't comparable , but DMC3 and bloodborne are!??!
DMC is a thoughtless button masher. In comparison to BB. IMO.
Even though it doesn't look as good as the PC version, it still looks REALLY good. CDPR really did optimize well for the consoles.
Can we keep the comments on topic please people? Thank you!
@davros79 ....I never compared those two either. I just said I would sooner consider DMC3 to hold the title of "superb combat".
Lol I'm getting the game for free with the purchase of the GTX 970. So I guess I don't need this version anymore. Still looks awesome though.
I can't wait for this.
Also, Dragon's Dogma beats everything for combat, in my opinion.
@ApostateMage Dragon's Dogma did have some brilliant combat, for sure.
Looks great! Can't wait!
@ApostateMage - Agreed. I put in well over 100 hours in to Dragon's Dogma and the combat never got old.
I'm really enjoying the combat in Lords of the fallen(is it mo-capped from people with real weapons?.. the moves look like they could be "real" or am I getting mixed up with something else...) it's got a really solid feel to it, the blows really connect and the armours in the game look great especially the cleric armour... Nice to see Lords of the fallen 2 is being worked on, hopefully it won't be affected by deck 13 interactives 4 exclusive games deal that they recently signed up with Microsoft for...would be good to have CI games and deck 13 working together on LotF2 after doing a great job on the first game
