Get pumped

As if you didn't already have enough to do in Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn, blitzball - the underwater football-like sport from Final Fantasy X - may end up being added to the massively multiplayer online adventure. The news comes via IGN, after the publication spoke to Naoki Yoshida, the title's director.

"We can't say it's been decided yet, this may be just half-joking so don't write it down as confirmed", Yoshida said, adding: "there was a meeting about two months ago where I had a chance to speak with Kitase-San, and I mentioned there seemed to be a big demand for implementing a Blitzball element in Final Fantasy XIV, and Kitase-San was just like, 'Oh wow, I never knew that? That could be cool to consider!' So let's just say… that conversation happened."

As the director says, nothing has been confirmed at this point, but it does sound like the addition of blitzball may be considered by the seniors of the development team. A bit of a surprise, then, and we're sure Tidus is acting like an excitable child right now, but is blitzball something that you'd like to see in the MMO?
