After a slew of rumours and plenty of speculation, Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness has been confirmed to be in development via the latest issue of Famitsu magazine. It's been six years since the last game was released back on the PlayStation 3.
For those who don't know, the Star Ocean series has been a staple of Square Enix's library for some time. A sci-fi, Japanese role-playing game property that boasts action-based battle systems, it's safe to say that the franchise has been a little bit hit and miss over the years, but here's hoping that this newest entry will restore the property's former glory.
Apparently set on a distant planet known as Feycreed, you'll be playing as Fedel Camus, who appears to be a blonde swordsman. As expected, battles will take place in real-time, but the game will also make use of 'seamless events' which sound like some sort of story altering mechanic.
