May the 4th be with you

As April comes to a close and May approaches, one thing is on our minds – and no, it's not nicer weather. May 4th marks the annual celebration of Star Wars Day, and so Sony is joining in – or maybe just cashing in, depending on how you see things – on the festivities.

First and foremost, the Japanese giant is adding four new "classics" to the PlayStation Network. If you still happen to have your PlayStation 3 hooked up and a bit of spare cash, then you'll be able to revisit Star Wars: Starfighter, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and Star Wars: Racer Revenge. Those interested may want to go ahead and jump on it, as there'll be a 25 per cent discount this week only.

But what's a celebration without something free? An admittedly underwhelming Millennium Falcon theme for the PlayStation 4 is up for grabs. Unfortunately, there's no special music playing – just the standard home menu tune – and no fancy visuals. What you see is what you get, and what you see is a picture of the Millennium Falcon that reads 'Star Wars: The Digital Movie Collection'. Subtle.

Now before you hang up your party hats and go home, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is a fun little game that we think may be worth your time, so long as you're still into downloading games from 2002. Oh, who are we kidding? Just give us Star Wars: Battlefront already.
