Charles Dance, probably known to a lot of you as Tywin Lannister from the Game of Thrones television series, is voicing a major character in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The 68 year old actor says that it's exciting to work on a video game, and this is the first time that he's done so in his career.
Taking on the role of Emperor Emhyr var Emreis, the trailer that we've embedded makes for an interesting watch, as Dance talks about how far video games have come in the last decade. "What I saw of video games ten years ago - I mean, that's like a whole other world," he says.

Damn good actor is Charles Dance. Looks like he's enjoying himself in the studio, too.
I've never seen Game of Thrones. I'll go get beheaded now.
That said, it's nice to see good actors doing video game roles. Sometimes, anyway.
Every bit of news on this game makes me want it more and more...
I have to admit my hype.for.this game is at an all time high. I think this game will end up being a real must have for this generation of console
@ShogunRok very good actor, maybe excusing him for ali g indahouse lol
@Mrskinner Pffft, forgot he was in that!
How can you not love Charles dance ?
I NEED THIS GAME ABOVE ALL OTHERS!!!
While I hate his got character, he's a great actor, and his voice sounds perfect for a game. Damn I want this game to come out. Hurry up may.
@BigDaddyT0101 its the sign of a good actor if you hate his character from game of thrones. I actually had a lot of respect and admiration for tyrin lannister, even though he was certainly a character who had his flaws.
@marston1983 exactly. My personal sign of a great show is whether or not it can provoke an actual emotional response from you. A great example is my buddy finally got on board with watching game of thrones, and when he hit the mountain and the viper he sent me a message saying he was done with the show. He had just spent the last 10 minutes screaming at his TV and then sendng me a massive text wall of how pissed he was. He also happens to be a rager game wise so I knew it was coming. To me that is a hallmark of greatness when it comes to film, or TV.
Cool video, and that voice, I just want to eat it up, and the game looks fantastic as usual, but... the headline here is kind of shamelessly taken out of context, when the fellow was talking about modern fantasy games in general. The full text of what he's saying, after the extended character-voice section, is as follows:
"The whole, well, rise in the popularity of fantasy, now, is quite extraordinary really. It's no longer the realm of children's entertainment. It is real. So, the whole thing now, appeals to quite discerning adults, because the special effects are so real, the worlds that are created are so believable, but it also employs the most wonderful cinematic techniques.
What I saw of video games ten years ago, I mean, it's like a whole other world."
@BigDaddyT0101 haha, your friend must have been pissed every season at about episode 9 with all the cliff hangers? 😊
@marston1983 pretty much. He finished season 4, but don't think he's hooked. One of those good guy has to win types, and I think season 4 officially killed his interest, which I don't get, the viper episode is my favorite because it's got in a nutshell, emotional highs, followed by extreme emotional lows. I love it myself.
@BigDaddyT0101 Ongoing season of Game of Thrones is boring. I personally watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. at the moment. And like it much better. They even have Lucy Lawless there. OMG!!! Can you believe it, Lucy Lawless =))). And I like it, even if there is no porn, like in Game of Thrones. And porn in Games of Thrones looks like fan serviece in anime - boring and out of place.
I stopped reading halfway through A Dance Of Dragons because the pace was extremely slow with literally nothing happening. I haven't begun watching the 5th series of the TV show yet.
