PS4 Firmware Update 2.50 PlayStation 4
Irrefutable proof

Ah, the PlayStation MVP programme – Sony's attempt at throwing its fans a bone, which almost always results in leaks. Respected community members were invited to take part in a beta test for PlayStation 4 firmware update v2.50 earlier today, and while the information is under NDA, it's already being shared around the Internet. This is why we can't have nice things.

According to a batch of images on Twitter (since removed), the changelog includes the long awaited Suspend/Resume function, which will allow you to put your console in Rest Mode, without closing any applications. This means, theoretically, that you'll be able to pause your game mid-session – but still cut down on your electricity bills, as the console will remain active in a low-power state.

Other improvements – again, as per second hand sources – include the ability to remove games from your profile where you haven't earned any Trophies, as well as the ability to search for specific trinket details online. Share Play, which enables you to virtually pass your controller to a pal, will also allegedly be upgraded to support 60 frames-per-second.

Lastly, the changelog mentions some form of 'Accessibility' feature, which will allow you to adjust settings "such as zooming and button assignments". It's a little bit vague that one, so we're not entirely sure what it's referring to. Either way, we should find out officially soon, as the Japanese giant has promised that a big firmware update is imminent. Are these the features that you wanted, though?
