PS4 Video Chat PlayStation 4 Firmware Updates
Good job she's got her Pulse headset

Powers, the press conference pace shattering television show that's exclusive to the PlayStation Network, is out now in North America – and, unsurprisingly, it sports a spot of product placement. While you'll need a Sony system to watch it, the platform holder clearly felt that promoting the PlayStation 4 during the show was worthwhile, and one scene includes a shot of a male character playing inFAMOUS: Second Son.

The intriguing thing about this, however, is that he's using the PlayStation Camera to chat to another gamer, using in-game video chat. This is functionality that isn't currently possible on the PS4, so some are speculating that it may be a sign of things to come. It's unlikely that a feature this big will be included in firmware update v2.50, as the Japanese giant's already officially confirmed the majority of the improvements for that. It could follow in the future, however.

It's also worth adding that video chat functionality is coming to Sony's next-gen system shortly, as part of a third-party app named ooVoo. This looks to be some form of internally developed addition, though, even if the screenshot's clearly a mock up. The big question is: would this sort of feature even interest you, or does it sound like a waste of resources? Come on cam in the comments section below.
