Senran Kagura is not exactly known for its subtlety, and this trailer for the forthcoming PlayStation 4 and Vita escapade Senran Kagura Estival Versus is no different. In addition to some seriously NSFW semi-nude ninjas, you'll get a decent glimpse at the game itself, including its 25 playable characters – and tantalising threads.
For those out of the loop, this is a 3D action title, perhaps most easily compared to the likes of Dynasty Warriors. In addition to a full single-player campaign, there'll be a ten-player online multiplayer option – and the developer is promising regular updates to keep this feature fresh. Expect much of the post-release support to centre on non-existent outfits, of course.
You can check out the titillating trailer down below, but again, we'll stress that this is probably best viewed while no one's watching. The title's due out on 26th March in Japan, with no word on a Western release just yet. Considering that the saucy series has gained a bit of a fanbase in these parts, though, expect it to bounce its way in this direction eventually.

oh Japan, I hope you never change
on a side note these games are actually pretty fun but I think people get caught up in all the ecchi moments and don't give the game a chance
@FullbringIchigo Ecchi moments? That's a new one on me. @ShogunRok taught me about nose bleeds the other day - never again.
Most definitely NSFW or my flat kitchen, oh Japan.
@get2sammyb I'm just going to copy and paste from wiki to explain it because it's easier but Ecchi is basicaly this
The word ecchi has been adopted by fans of Japanese media to describe works with sexual overtones. In Japanese, the word ecchi is often used to describe a person's conduct, but in fandom, it has come to be used to refer to softcore or playful sexuality, as distinct from the word hentai, which connotes perversion or fetishism. Works described as ecchi do not show sexual intercourse or genitalia. Instead, sexual themes are hinted at, and much is left up to the imagination of the viewer. Ecchi themes are a type of fan service, and can be found in comedy shōnen and seinen manga and harem anime
Still waiting to try Shinovi Versus, as by all accounts it sounds like it's actually a good fun game! Seems to be on offer on the store at the moment too - down to £15 - although I'm sure that wasn't mentioned in any of the weekly sales announcements!
It's a shame people won't look beyond the anime-setting with these games, they're not brilliant but they're good fun. Honestly think it's the anime-look, not flashing and skimpy outfits that holds this game back to people. It's never held Dead Or Alive back has it? If the girls in this game looked realistic it would be number one in the charts until FIFA 16 comes out. When Bon Appétit was on this site (decent rhythm action game actually) you had all sorts of keyboard warriors declaring it scum of the earth yet if it was realistic girls cooking naked they'd be asking if you can play one handed
@FullbringIchigo Fan service sums it up nicely really.
@rastamadeus yeah the anime style also has something to do with it too but it's a shame people can't look past the cover so to speak and enjoy a good game
@rastamadeus "If the girls in this game looked realistic it would be number one in the charts until FIFA 16 comes out." Hmm, really?
@rastamadeus I don't think the girls being more realistic would boost sales as much as you think.
@rastamadeus Noticed you've been playing that lately. I've been enjoying the two games on PSTV myself, enjoyed the series since I gave Burst a try on the 3DS last year. Underrated games. It's a shame most writers & readers are all too quick to yank their power cables out of the socket in anger at the merest sight of some anime girls side boob instead of just enjoying the gameplay.
@SteveButler2210 Aye both the Vita titles have 40% off at the moment. I payed full price a few days before the sale, still don't regret it.
I dunno... I'm pretty much down for whatever but something about this just doesn't appeal. I think it might be that women are pretty badly objectified here in Japan (although many of them don't seem to really care - which is odd) and there are also concerning social trends like hikikomori (young people, often men, who never leave their homes) and soshoku danshi (basically herbivore men - meaning guys who have no desire to date women). I mean, there's probably no to little correlation, but between these kinda games and phenomena like AKB48, it makes me wonder if there is a connection. I'm sure the games are fun, but as a father of 2 girls, I can't really see myself playing them.
@Jazzer94 @get2sammyb Not from a game play perspective I meant, more how many 'lads' lads would buy a Vita and the game if the girls were Page 3 models from The S*n (not saying it's name, I'm a scouser)? The game would be up there until FIFA as they'd buy it to perv. The same people who call anyone who plays it with it's anime-style odd, like when someone on here compared it to rape.
@MadchesterManc It's actually really good, isn't it? Was starting to get a little repetitive but bought the extra characters this afternoon as it's more songs too so it's prolonged it's life. Will keep me going for a while until Project DIVA F 3rd is hopefully announced for PS4 soon. And IA/VT Colorful in a few months too.

I like to live dangerously.
I like the 3DS game, but haven't been interested in the Vita ones because they look like Dynasty Warriors clones
I liked how the trailer was really keen to point out that with 25 playable characters, there are 50 ahem boobs in the game. Having played the 3ds game and the first vita one, I was surprised that some of those scenes were jaw-droppingly shocking to me (not offended, but dang). Come to think of it jaw-dropping might not be as good a term as toe-curling.
I await any flames with my shields up.
Also to mods, I will be more than happy to edit this if need be, but it is a nsfw article, so please don't censor. I'm being funny and candid.
@DualWielding The vita games have dynasty warriors combat with the same "locked in an area till you kill all enemies to move on" map styles from the 3ds games. None of the open maps and multi-tasking from dynasty warriors.
@Artie I always thought dynasty warriors sucked, until I played naruto impact on PSP, however I didn't realize it was a clone. I knew that hyrule warriors is made by them. Instantly hooked. Just got dw7 and it's a blast, was just playing conquest with my gf lol. Hyrule warriors is a bit better though lol
@Alpha Hyrule Warriors is better, I agree. I'm hoping we get Dragon Quest Heroes in the west as well.
@Artie Square is thinking about it apparently

I dunno why people keep saying Shinovi Versus plays like Dynasty Warriors. As anyone who's invested enough time into the series will tell you - It plays exactly the same as Burst did on the 3DS, except now has a traditional third person camera instead of a side scrolling perspective. Did Burst play like Dynasty Warriors? No. It was a classic action brawler, and Shinovi Versus continues that style on Vita. Your underselling the game lumping it in with KT's Musou games.
I really am looking forward to this game!
