Well, we knew this kind of quote was coming sooner or later. In an interview with Game Trailers, creative director Ru Weerasuriya remarks on how The Order: 1886 is only just "touching the surface" of what the PlayStation 4 can do.
The upcoming exclusive looks visually stunning -- that much we know -- but to think that Sony's newest console can go further beyond that level of quality is difficult to fully comprehend. "We're at the beginning of the generation", the developer commented, adding: "We have those years to hit a higher bar and we already have ideas about how to get there." It all sounds very promising doesn't it?
How do you think The Order looks? Can you imagine the PS4 producing titles that look much better? Blow us away with fancy weaponry in the comments section below.

Taking this with a grain of salt.
But can it do anything other than brown and gray?
Waiting on media Molecule to bring the rainbow.
Maybe they mean that by yr 3 they could make a game like The Order without the letter boxes.
Should that title be 'Hair we go'?
Maybe they'll add gameplay next time 😇
I wish their ego stroking for graphical prowess would cease already. I don't really care about how realistic the characters look if the gameplay is bland.
I hope so. I'd hate for this to be the limits...as pretty as it is.
I'm going to take this with a mountain of salt, just seems like pr talk.
Well, the problem with that is the time it takes to create games with complicated graphics. So let's say they can make a game with twice the intricacy. That's going to cost more and take longer to make. Is it going to get to a point where these studios can only release one game every seven years? I think that's unlikely. Some studios might, but the rest can't afford to and will continue to rush their games to market to help their current quarter.
The guts dont lie. PS4 can push good graphics but considering everything inside is below the current PC gaming standard, why even bother acting like it has multiple GeForce Titans hidden somewhere inside the system ready to be "unlocked".
Games will look better at the cost of more working hours, and the hope that big graphics can even pay for themselves in this market.
How about mechanics? That other part of a game that seems to be slipping away from major developers as time goes on. 60fps is still hard to attain for most of these games. Suggesting local co-op for a game is still met with the vague "not enough power".
Yeah sure... That's why the game is 30 fps and has black bars to reduce resolution.
Its pretty damn obvious they will squeeze more power from the PS4 as the years go on. Its the same with every console. If they couldn't I would be surprised.
Statements like these reflect more on the developer's skill than the PS4's power. If they could barely get the game to "scratch the surface", perhaps they need to hire more talent who can. If the power they say is there is truly there, then there should be no excuse for not using it while sticking us with 30fps...
It's year full calendar year two, if people really believe the PS4 can't, or won't, do more in the future they haven't paid attention to this industry over the years. As a console generation goes on and developers get more used to the hardware, results improve.
I'm thinking MGS V will push it even harder. Kojima always makes games look amazing. Think about how fantastic MGS3 looked on PS2. Then MGS4 on PS3. However, by the end of the PS3 generation, MGS4 really doesn't look that great compared to some other games, like Ground Zeroes, for example. It is crazy how much it can change over a generation. Having played Ground Zeroes on PS4 though, I really wouldn't mind if every game committed to 1080p at 60 FPS with slightly lower texture qualities and such. I prefer smooth and nice to pretty but bumpy.
No surprise there; believe it or not, there IS an advantage of consoles being a fixed piece of hardware. Optimisation can do miracles on a relatively 'weak' console - I was watching my brother play God of War: Ascension the other day, and I couldn't believe it was running on the PS3. I guarantee, it would be impossible to get that kind of performance on a PC with similar specs!
@JaxonH
Compare uncharted 1 to tlou. You saying naughty dog were lacking talent when they made uncharted?
As always, it takes time for the tools to come good, and experience with the tools for the developers to learn to get the best out of a system.
For a first effort with a new engine on a new system it's amazing what they've managed to do.
I can't wait to get my hands on it and I'm really looking forward to seeing what they can do in the future.
I agree with Kage_88 the PS3 had a 256Mb graphics card with 2 x 256Mb (512Mb) of RAM, I had a PC with the same graphics card and same RAM once and it couldn't touch the PS3 for graphics and performance etc when playing games. I am aware that PC's need a lot of background services etc to run but this is an example of why people like consoles so much..... PC lovers this is not a pop at you guys I can see your side of things as well you can get much more powerful gaming PC's than the PS4/XBox one but pound for pound with the same specs as the consoles they would lose the fight when it comes to gaming.
