EA Games has put Battlefield Hardline on temporary parole, as it solicits some final feedback ahead of the first-person shooter's release next month. The open beta can be downloaded now on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Europe, but eager cops and robbers in North America may find themselves under lock and key until the PlayStation Store update publishes later today. The taster will run through 8th February.
The release wasn't especially well received during its initial test last E3, which ultimately prompted Visceral Games to delay the title outside of its original October 2014 launch window. The jury's still out on this edition, of course – but we hope for the developer's sake that it gets a thumbs up, otherwise things could be about to get a bit dicey for the firm.

Could you guys explain? why is Europe pretty much getting every update before US people?
It's a little frustrating. Content is content, why place it in a different continent first?

@wittypixel Prob because we're 8 hours ahead!
@wittypixel
You get store updates a day early, gotta throw us Europeans a bone once in a while.
I'll give it a try.
This ain't battlefield. This is crap. That is all.
@Bridgeman not buying that. @Punished_Boss_84 You gusy even got the Minecraft update a whole WEEK before we did.. and idk about the whole store update thing. That's weird.
I hate this 4 class system they currently have in Battlefield, it sucks and even more so if you play 64 player maps. Not much variety in classes which means I'll pass on this game and anyone in the future where it's only 4 classes. I hated 2142 by the way. I liked BF2's class system and basically all the weapons in that game compared to 2142 and that is basically the class system they are doing in every single BF game from now on. meh
@Scollurio Have you played it? Been playing it all day and ive had more fun than ive ever had on BF4. And i like BF4 lol
Doesnt have tanks/jets but its still 100% Battlefield. Hotwire & Heist are really fun additions in my opinion, even if they are just old modes tinkered with a bit
@GraveLordXD It has a single player yeah and its being laid out like a TV show i think. As in every mission is the next "episode"
@wittypixel seriously an American complaining about getting releases later then Europe? We get nearly everything in games and movies, or even phones gadgets etc, later then you guys..
@wittypixel @Flurpsel @Bridgeman Classic. Historically EU has almost always been stitched up royally compared to US, in terms of delayed releases (not PS related, but hello "Project Steam" releasing 2 months later in EU...), as well as generally better sales, and as already mentioned the fact that despite us being ahead in terms of timezone we have to wait an extra day for our store updates.
Then one Beta releases slightly earlier on the same day over here than in the US, and it's "frustrating"? As @Punished_Boss_84 said, we take a backseat often enough as it is, we need something thrown our way every now and then - I'm sure you'll survive the extra few hours!
.
Edit: nvm
@wittypixel @Flurpsel @Bridgeman @SteveButler2210 lol ok I get the point. I get it.
But how about this battle field! Really like Hotwire mode, just wish you weren't confined to the small space doing circles, which is a little strange
@wittypixel Hotwire is great! Enjoy the downtown map for it more than dustbowl tho.
Heist is great when you get a team that tries to play the objective
