There's no doubt that the Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event in American television, with millions expected to tune in to the game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks tomorrow. This makes it ripe for commercial opportunities, as companies stump up extortionate sums to have their products positioned during prime time.
And it looks as though Sony may have invested the cash to get PlayStation 4 exclusive The Order: 1886 some airtime prior to the big game. "Sir Galahad and The Knights will debut a new TV trailer in the build up to kick-off," said marketing man Guy Longworth on the PlayStation Blog. "As one of the PS4's biggest new exclusives, it's the perfect time for [it] to be at the forefront."
Of course, we've been here before. The platform holder famously made a massive deal out of its God of War: Ascension advertisement, which was supposed to debut during the Super Bowl a couple of years ago, but only ever appeared online. We reckon that this will probably be a similar case – but with its next-gen system flying, maybe the Japanese giant has decided to splurge.

Meh...still not particularly excited about this. Looks gears of war in ye olde London. Need more actual gameplay footage.
@imtom2002 I felt exactly the same when I watched the trailers for this. Gears of war just reskinned and prettier
Where are the lycans?
I am really happy for them. A super bowl ad will deffinatly boost its popularity. It makes sense that they would splurge on this, cause the ps4 is thier biggest money maker.
If they show quality cutscenes, I think they can get some pull with the casual gamers.
Im Glad they are actually advertising, hope it does well. Ill buy it.
How long are they going to keep announcing that greatness awaits...
That God of War: Ascension Live Action Trailer is still one of my favorites...
Again, what's so bad about Gears of War mechanics in a cinematic steam punk London? The same complainers probably play every annual installment of COD and AC to boot.
This is great news , I hope the game sells well enough .
I watched the super bowl. I didn't see this ad.
@sub12 Exactly my thoughts. Thank you.
If the story manages to be engaging Im all over this. If you think about it, even The Last of Us (which I loved) - if it wasn't for its exceptional writing and the bond between Ellie and Joel it's a pretty linear corridor-shooter too...
I still can't believe the play calling at the end of the game. Unreal.
