Let’s be honest: Sony’s done a pretty terrible job promoting forthcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive The Order: 1886 so far. After an impressive unveiling, the company’s recycled a pretty bland demo, which has been doing the rounds at virtually every gaming convention under the sun for months now. Even developer Ready at Dawn has shown some frustration at the omnipresent overview, taking to social media on multiple occasions to point out that the sampler is almost as ancient as the title’s source material.
Fortunately, it will get one last shot before the historical escapade’s February launch to change perception on the game. Writing on Twitter, the studio stressed that next month’s PlayStation Experience fan event will play host to a brand new hands-on demo from the shooter – and we have to imagine that this will be near final code. With the right cross-section, this could make or break the release, so we’ve got our fingers crossed that the firm picks the right slice. What are you hoping to see? Looking forward to seeing something new from this title. Im guessing they have made some substantial modifications to the gameplay based on feedback and didnt want to debut it untill nearer release. Plus the game should look even better now.
@3Above I don't think there's anything wrong with the gameplay myself; the mistake they made is showing a really early and simple section. I think they'll show a much more complex sequence this time.
At lease, I hope so...
Well, it has looked entirely mediocre to this point, hopefully something at the PlayStation Experience changes my mind but even then I'm going to wait for reviews and any feedback from friends before deciding to buy. I like the setting but at this point, the only Sony first party teams I have any confidence in are Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch and Polyphony.
@get2sammyb I too didnt really have a problem with the gameplay. But I feel they would have tweaked it just to appease the masses. But yes, they haven't detailed much of the (dare I say) Bloodborne-esque half breeds and how you combat them so they will probably show some of that.
Maybe they didn't want to show anything that would reveal the game as being garbage, just a possibility...
please watch the language -Tasuki-
Yeah, I cant believe a 3rd person shooter looks exactly like a 3rd person shooter. Been hyped for this game since it was announced. These guys made Kratos likeable for me so I believe in them! Plus, Galahads tashe
Also, since these guys are the Knights of the round table just prolonging their lives, how cool would it be if Nikola Telsa was actually Merlin
I'm hyped, one of the many PS4 games I hope to play eventually.
I'm still excited for this game, just upset with how they've handled the build up thus far.
This is a game I'd like to see succeed, but using the same build all this time is a wall banger for sure. Hopefully the next look at the game is something good.
@Gamer83
I don't have confidence at all in Polyphony since GT5 and 6. First game was years to late and second game is still not finished. The guy is more busy with racing than that he is doing his job.
Seems that they are contracting more people now so maybe this time they will deliver a finished game.
Maybe Sony isn't promoting this game that much after they learned from the hype of Destiny and specially DriveClub.
I heard from some people who went to Gamescon that the game is "mwah" after they have played the demo.
I hope it blows everyone away(the game-play bits) because i am getting fed up of reading negative Articles about this game from most of the gaming press :-/ But i guess it is a PS4 Exclusive so it won't have a chance pleasing the press whatever they show or do with the game. Anyway i think it looks AMAZING & i mean ALL of it
Just for the setting of Victorian London, I'm interested, more games should be set then.
Hopefully they worked out the problems, because so far, qhile not completely bad, it looked completely uninteresting (except for the setting !), and bland, thats the problem... So far looks so... Vanilla
