Quit tucking into that Jill Sandwich, and take a look at this: ten whole minutes of Resident Evil Remaster HD footage, running on the PlayStation 4. Also due out on the PlayStation 3 early next year, the title is a port of a port, possibly designed to pull the leg of those who’ve been complaining about the number of re-releases of late. For those out of the loop, it’s based upon the GameCube remake of the original Resident Evil, lovingly dubbed REmake by most. Witty.
In truth this does look good; the terrible animations, cryptic text descriptions, and ostentatious door opening cinematics are all still intact. Of course, it definitely looks shinier running on Sony’s next-gen system, but pre-rendered backdrops ensured that the original always looked the part anyway. Are you looking forward to this? @BLPs Love my WiiU! Why isn't this 'remake' not coming to the WiiU again? Just looks like the GameCube copy from 12 years ago.
Don't know what I'd do without the WiiU this gen. Ps4 hasn't been turned on since TLoU and even then I was like 'what's the point of this, I have it on my ps3', bloody ports.
Thank God for Ninty!
LBP3, Bloodborne, The Order 1886.
Yeah, I get why they do ports for the first year nowadays, but, the WiiU didn't have ports until wind waker, and that was a remake not a port, even if it was a port, it's only one since November 2012.
The games will come for the sisters but it'll take a year more to get them out from now, a while to go.
Poor aul Nintendo, always getting sh*t from the other two, but look at them now and nearly a year in for them.
@Bad-MuthaAdebis 'LBP3, Bloodborne, The Order 1886.'
and I'm looking forward to them, but, none of which, are out yet, possibly until next year, and its coming up to ps4's first year now or next month. It's not a great launch with ports everywhere of last gen games that only came out last year.
Whereas the WiiU had lots of disc based games out by this stage, but people ragged on it to no end.
Lbp3 is out this year and the other two are out the early 2015, it wasn't a great year but it wasn't that bad
I wonder how the PS3 hold, and I don't understand why people complain about this port, the REmake version used to be exclusive to Nintendo consoles before and everyone seems to agree is far superior from the PSOne version... Since I've not owned any Non-handheld Nintendo consoles since the Snes this will be my first chance to try REmake and i'm looking forward to it
Just bought a ps4 and one thing that has struck me is how many games are also available on PS3. I have never known such support for a previous generation of consoles as this one, especially a year after release and with decent number of ps4 units sold. When the Wiiu was released not a single game was also available on the Wii. I only have destiny so far, and am planning to get last of us and gta5 - all of which I could have got on PS3!
@Picola yeah it's annoying but I guess there is more ps3 in the wild so more sales. At the moment I only buy ps3 versions but that will change next year.
Ah, I don't care lol, I've too many systems! and I just bought alien isolation for my ps3, not even a quarter way through hyrule warrior's, think I have a problem.
I wonder if the ps4 will ever get an update to be BC with ps3 disc and psn.... I can only dream.
Never got around to playing REmake, so I'm looking forward to this. Always heard great things about this remake.
@readyletsgo that's the problem with gaming nowadays. To many titles, so little time. I got a backlog of at least 15 games. And I know someone that has a ton of disc based ps3 games, like three shelves on a big bookcase, easily 100 disc based, let alone his PS plus games. He easily has about 1000 games counting ps3 digital, disc, and vita. Lol I'll have him send a pic of his games so I can put a screenshot of it up lol. To many games, such little time.
@Picola I find it a bit humorous too, the ps3 architecture is hard to develop for, and all these games are releasing for both. LolHowever some games are being developed on one and being ported, as like watch dogs. It was made on ps4 and ported to ps3. That's what I heard at least. Point is some games are developed for ps3 or ps4. Murdered was made for ps3 and ported to ps4. GTA V however is being remastered more to speak.
I will be buying the games for the console it was developed for except for a select few like GTA V and FF type-0 HD.
(I do realize its been years since the ps3 came out and the ps4 is out already so understanding of the ps3 architecture is easier now)
@DualWielding I've owned the REmake before, it was one of the first times playing it (at the time I was so confused lol) but to look back on the original PSone version, its definitely way better, graphically (realism), playability, voicing, difficulty. So I'll be picking it up. Lol
@readyletsgo yea I don't see why the Wii u was ragged on to know end or how it "failed" like the virtual boy. In fact I'll be buying one before a ps4! Due to a quite a few games! And that is 3 Mario games (Mario bros u, Mario 3d land and the next main title), hyrule warriors, the new Zelda, smash 4 plus more! I don't see how it could have?? Its got great games! A lot of them!
I never liked the first game because of the stupid camera angles. I can already see that these problems haven't been fixed so i will give it a miss.
