Don't touch that dial

Incredibly, people are still pulling secrets out of last week’s Silent Hills playable teaser. Considering that the demo was built by Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, it’s perhaps no real surprise – but this latest Easter egg maintains a long running tradition. If you’ve played a Silent Hill game before, you’ll know that they often include secret endings involving aliens. And, unbelievably, there’s a reference to extraterrestrials in the P.T. demo.

In the loop after the one involving the baby in the fridge, the radio will play a subliminal message. We assumed that it was just mumbo jumbo, but it turns out that it’s actually Swedish dialogue discussing Martians. “The radio drama from 75 years ago was the truth,” it states. “They are here on our Earth, and they oversee all.” The aforementioned broadcast that it’s referencing is most likely Orson Welles’ adaptation of War of the Worlds, which hit US airwaves in 1938.

Of course, this has all led to speculation that the next title in Konami’s survival horror series will focus on extraterrestrials, but we reckon that it's more likely to be Kojima and his crew messing around. It’s incredible that people are still finding secrets in this 20 minute demo, though – it makes us want to dive back in and see what else we can uncover. Have you found any other Easter eggs in P.T.?
