"Steady men, we're downloading now"

Just when you thought that you'd had your fill of putting thousands of grunts to death, Koei Tecmo has gone ahead and released Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition's long awaited 1.01 update on the PlayStation 4 and Vita, along with a patch for the PS3 standalone Xtreme Legends expansion.

It's quite a hefty update, too, but fans will be happy to hear of a couple of additions in particular. For starters, the game is finally prepared for the arrival of the free Japanese voice DLC that'll be releasing at the end of this month. Secondly, you should now be able to change the title's depth of field in the options menu. As we noted in our PS4 review, the release is coated in a kind of hazy glazing when you're out on the field of battle, but it seems as though this visual touch hasn't been well received by everyone.

On top of those requested features, there's also a slew of alterations that range from tweaks to the weapon fusion system to new Free Mode functionality, as well as a whole host of bug fixes.
