An MMO that features gigantic battlefields and action-focused hack and slash gameplay, Kingdom Under Fire II is expected to be marching onto the PlayStation 4 in the not too distant future. The free-to-play release grabbed our attention with its original E3 2014 trailer, and now it's time for an extended look.
The new video stresses that the footage is edited from actual gameplay, and it's safe to say that it looks rather interesting. As the camera swoops across the crowded warzone, you can catch a glimpse of numerous different types of troops, as well as huge animal mounts and ridiculous player character attacks. It's certainly got an eye catching style, but is it enough to tempt you into suiting up in the biggest set of armour that you can possibly find? Why don't they stop this trailer at 2:35 with the message: "You're are out of Rumpels (in-game currency), please buy the Adventurers pack for just £59, or wait 24- hours to watch the next minute"?
@Boerewors I hope the game doesn't end up being that bad!
Someone's got big feet. This looks fairly epic but between dynasty warriors and elder scrolls online I'm not sure I'll be bothering anytime soon.
Wow, those sexy females, I can't resist OMG, must buy!!! Wait, are they free-to play? DOUBLE OMG!!!
Yea the developer putting huge breasted, unrealistic women in videogames should have ended years ago. Don't get me wrong, I like a sizeable......well, ya know......but this reeks of, "Hey! You! 14 yr old boy! Buy this game bc of the fake digital women!"
Looks crazy! Will have to give it a try when it comes out.
Was every character in this trailer an actual player or just npc soldiers along with the actual players?
Never heard of this franchise and I don't know how good it's predecessor was, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued by that trailer.
@JaxonH Exactly my thoughts haha!
@dgwdum It's part hack and slash part real time strategy. You'll be giving orders those troops that you see, while you also control your character, so the only other players are other main characters I'm afraid.
It'd be quite a feat if they were all players, though!
@ShogunRok
Thanks for clarifying that. It still looks awesome though and I will definitely give it a go when it comes out.
@dgwdum It's free-to-play, so why not? And to add more to the MMO aspect, I believe it's mostly co-op. You'll be fighting with friends in order to beat huge armies, which does sound pretty cool.
Three signs this may just be eye candy:
Just my opinion of course, but would like to see some uncut gameplay. It may change my mind about this.
"Practical armour for the female warrior" - indeed.
Not a fan of hack and slash. Expect I will be giving this one a miss.
