Nolan North, the voice actor behind just about every video game protagonist ever – including Nathan Drake – has recently said that he believes Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be the last game in the popular series. Speaking with IGN, the smooth sounding star stated that he hopes the franchise stays in the right hands.
"If this is the last one indeed, and I believe it’s the last one – nothing’s confirmed, but I believe it’s the last one Naughty Dog wants to do," North said, "I hope that somebody else doesn’t pick up the mantle, because they’ve done it so well for so long." However, he was quick to assure us that the newest entry will definitely hold up the series' impressive pedigree. “I like the idea of going out on top, so we better do a hell of a job with this one," the actor continued. “And it’s already looking pretty good.”
While the idea of this being the last time we'll witness Nathan Drake's signature smirk is certainly bittersweet, we're equally as excited to see what developer Naughty Dog can come up with next, especially after its absolutely sublime recent effort The Last of Us.
Would you be sad to see the franchise end, or are you happy for its talented studio to forge into uncharted territory? Duck for cover in the comments section below.

Until it sells a million copies in 24 hours...
I'm ok if this is the last, all the Uncharted games have been great fun but the longer it goes on the more you run the risk of ruining it
@get2sammyb "Uncharted 5: A Thief's End.....AGAIN!"
@get2sammyb Will that happen>?
I can officially say when I saw "A Thief's End" appear during the presentation, I cried. It is it's time to go but I don't want to watch Nate die.
@Sanquine I don't see why not!
@NicolaHayden Nate won't die! Sully on the other hand...
@get2sammyb Uncharted 3 trolled me so bad. I was crying like a baby when Nate saw sully die in his hands
It won't be the last time we see Nathan Drake, that will be on PS5 when we get the Uncharted 4-pack in 4K resolution
I assumed this would be the last game just from the trailer. Hopefully they'll find the famous lost pirate treasure at the end and they can all retire rich to live happily ever after.
I like Uncharted, but no series should stay around forever, itll just start getting dull. I rather the series go with a bang, then see game after game and see the series turn into something people are sick of (right call of duty? )
While I'm sad this is probably the last new game forever, I'm still excited to play it to the end. I just hope I can wait until 2017 to play it, heh.
(I won't have a PS4 until then, unless I get social security or a job soon)
I don't see why it should be the last game ever, stick it on the shelf for 5 years.
@get2sammyb What if Sully is already dead and we don't know yet.
@get2sammyb @Jazzer94
Silly geese! Sully can't die, he is immortal
I thought this was the last one from the title. Never been able to get into uncharted no matter how I tried.
I don't believe it. Maybe last one with Drake, or as other have been hinting, Sully. Because if Sully is no more I don't want to play. That is like the only blemish for me that Uncharted 2 has.
I would not be surprised if later on they keep the mythos alive with Nate's and Elena's son (or even daughter) with Drake as a new kind of Sully.
I will be ok with it ending only as far as Drake's tale goes. I could see another character step up.
@hydeks
Kind of agree with this. I love Uncharted but I think it's a story that needs a natural end, and there's also the fact that Naughty Dog's best work seems to be on newer franchises. They have one in The Last of Us that is still good for another story or two and given Naughty Dog's track record I don't see any reason why the developers couldn't come up with a new IP to replace Uncharted that is just as good or better.
I have loved the uncharted series been one of best ever and i dont think its done just yet they could make another 2-3 games before ending the series and with nathan drake being one of the loveable and best characters created you might see him in another game in the future as a special guest
I am a huge fan of the series and I absolutely don't want to see it end yet! Nooooooo!
