We’ve been waiting over a decade for Halo developer Bungie to plot its return to PlayStation platforms, so we can understand your impatience when it comes to upcoming first-person shooter Destiny. Fortunately, it looks like the game will be one of the first releases to take advantage of Sony’s new PlayStation 4 pre-load functionality, as players that pre-ordered the game on the North American PlayStation Store overnight spotted a new icon showing a countdown clock.
While you won’t be able to actually start your download until a few days before the title’s official release on 9th September, that additional time should allow you to have the game installed and ready for when the clock strikes midnight. It’s worth noting, too, that purchasing the release through the Japanese giant’s digital plaza will also provide you with access to the expensive escapade’s beta when it becomes available. Have you added the release to your basket? Buddy up in the comments section below.

Damn if I had known this I wouldn't have bought a disc copy XD
This feature just keeps getting delayed.
@Punished_Boss How do you mean?
Is it only certain games that use this feature? I really wanted watchdogs to be able to let us DL it
@get2sammyb It keeps getting delayed.

This article states September for it to begin with Destiny.
"Because of ubisoft policy" ........ T_T
@Punished_Boss I see what you mean. I assume if The Last of Us Remastered comes out sooner than September, that will support it.
Preload or not preload, I'd be happy with a PRE-ORDER feature like on PS3. Thought Watchdogs would feature it (like it does on PS3) but obviously I'm out of luck!
Yay Destiny!! Don't bother me about this feature as my download speed is super fast so won't take long! Whoop roll on September 9th 😁
@Midzark that's what we use to say about 56k.
