"Cut my life into pieces"

Drinkbox Studios, creators of arguably one of the best PlayStation Vita games of 2013 in Guacamelee, has been busying itself with more than just the PS4 port of the action platformer. During PAX this weekend, it showed off its latest title Severed – a first person, touch-screen dungeon crawler where you sever enemy body parts and equip them to gain new powers. If that doesn't sound like the most hardcore levelling system ever, then we don't know what does.

The smartphone release focuses on a non-linear setup where you're able to garner new powers in any order that you like, similarly to the Mega Man series. With the touch screen at the core of the game, controlling all movement and combat, we wouldn't be surprised if the title eventually deployed on the Vita. However, the developer has also considered the possibility of taking advantage of the PlayStation Move controller and even the Project Morpheus headset, which would certainly be unique. If you're eager to see this nasty piece of work in action, check the out the concept trailer below. The game is expected to launch in 2015. Would you like to see this title join the PlayStation family, or would you rather it stay on mobile devices? Cut us up in the comments section below.
