The morality system is undoubtedly the backbone of the inFAMOUS franchise, acting as a hub for both the story and the gameplay. Interestingly, a recent Official PlayStation Magazine interview with developer Sucker Punch has revealed that the series' newest entry may be seeing a few tweaks to the established formula. Don't expect anything too radical, though, as creative director Nate Fox assures us that the core principles will remain very much the same. "Delsin is an all new character, part of an all-new story and the player gets in at ground zero," he said. "Second Son is Delsin’s origin story and because our game lets you choose if you want to be good or evil, you get to decide how he grows as a person and how the people around him are changed by his choices."
However, it seems that the studio is opting for a more subtle approach than seen in previous entries. While the first two games saw you making huge plot-defining choices, Second Son will focus more on moment-to-moment decisions. “Somebody might try to surrender to you in the middle of a fight and put their arms up," Fox continued. "You could violently execute them or take them down alive."
What's more, the Washington-based studio seems intent on shifting the focus from the choice itself, to actually carrying out and dealing with its consequences. "Choosing to be a good guy or a bad guy, that’s the simple choice," he continued. "The harder thing to do is, are you capable of walking the walk? And that’s where the game comes alive in terms of karma in my mind.” Are you looking forward to this more nuanced approach, or are you having horrific flashbacks to accidentally killing the civilians in inFAMOUS 2? Let your freak flag fly in the comments section below.

That hype!
Cool, I'll probably to be able to walk the walk as a bad guy. I spent far too much time in the first inFamous killing civilians and blowing up cars after I beat the game. The only time I felt any regret, was when Trish died.
I think I'm going to be violently evil in Second Son. I always play as the good guy when morality is involved.
Good guy for me.
I'll embrace the dark side just to get the trophies.
MWUAHAHAHAHAAHA!
Ahem... sorry.
inFamous's morality system has always been a little black and white for me.
Basically, it's just there to squeeze two very similar playthroughs out of the same game.
It's actually the one thing I'm not looking forward to for SS.
Though I really like this series, I am generally not a fan of morality systems in games, at least I haven't found one I like yet (Mass Effect is another example. I loved the series, but hated its system). My issue with them, is that they force you to play the character in a very black or white fashion (either good or bad), which is both unrealistic and boring.
Real people/characters are far more nuanced, can react differently to various people or situations, and especially can have a breaking point. I like the idea that the game reacts and changes according to your actions, but too many games punish you if you are not 100% consistent, either ultra good or evil. In the end that effective removes the very choices the game is trying to create.
I haven't gotten into this series cause it seems a little, idk, juvenile maybe? No offense or anything, I just mean like simple good/bad themes so littler kids can still play too (I assume there's no swearing etc). Pretty sure I got 1 and 2 free from Plus, I'll have to give them another try
@charlesnarles They don't say the F word, but sadly there is still swearing. There are a few other that would keep little kids from playing as well.
