Grand Theft Auto V Stocks

Grand Theft Auto V raked in an absolutely staggering $800 million during its first day on the market, securing the largest volume of launch day sales in the sandbox series’ history. "We are incredibly proud of Rockstar Games' creative achievement and could not be more pleased with the success of this launch," said a chuffed Strauss Zelnick, chief of parent company Take-Two. We’re not surprised that he’s stoked – you can’t even make that kind of dough by fiddling Life Invader’s turbulent stocks.

While global figures are currently unavailable, Chart-Track reports that the release sold 1.57 million copies in the UK on launch day alone, making it the country’s fastest-selling game of all time. It generated revenues in the region of £65 million ($105 million) across both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The title takes the crown from Call of Duty: Black Ops, which sold 1.41 million copies and raised £58 million ($93 million) back in 2010.

As a result, we strongly suspect that the Houser brothers will be dining with diamond encrusted cutlery this evening. Are you surprised by these sensational figures? Let us know in the comments section below.
