Avoid Droid

The best thing about the current indie game renaissance on the PlayStation Vita is that you never quite know what you’re going to get. Take the upcoming Avoid Droid, for example, which squeezes the fruity centres out of Pac-Man and Snake, and blends the juices into one mouth-watering concoction. The aim of the game is to nibble on exploding cherries, apples, and melons in order to destroy deadly robotic foes. Who said that it had to make sense?

In addition to an addictive score-based hook, the title will include multiple character skins, and a slew of different modes, including a full campaign spanning 50 missions. Alright, visually it looks like the kind of thing that you’d play on a VTech edutainment toy, but the gameplay looks solid. You’ll even be able to upload your best performances to YouTube. Turns out that you don’t need a share button to be social, after all.
