The LEGO Movie Videogame

Just when you thought that you were safe from block-building action, Warner Bros has announced another LEGO title, this time designed to tie into the popular toy’s imminent big screen debut. Due out in 2014 on the – wait for it – PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita, The LEGO Movie Videogame will depict the plight of miniature hero Emmet, who’s mistakenly identified as the saviour of the world.

“We’re thrilled to be able to give kids the joy of reliving Emmet’s adventures in becoming virtual Master Builders with The LEGO Movie Videogame,” said the managing director of developer TT Games, Tom Stone. “Players will be taking on the ultimate mission to save the LEGO world, and use their virtual building prowess to build unimaginable sets and creations."

The title will feature over 90 characters and 15 stages, and will no doubt subscribe to the same style of gameplay that’s defined the series over the past half-decade. Still, we suppose that this gives us another opportunity to use that tired “blockbuster” pun, huh?
