Fans of exceptionally long adventures will get their money’s worth next year, as Nippon Ichi has announced that Disgaea 4: Return is in active production for the PlayStation Vita. The port of the PlayStation 3 favourite Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten was announced during an anniversary event in Yokohama.
There’s no word on an international release just yet, but the handheld version of Disgaea 3 did make its way overseas. As such, we’d be surprised if this didn’t brave the long journey westward. During the aforementioned event, the developer also announced Criminal Girls: Invitation for the Vita, which is due out in Japan later this year. Again, details are scarce.

Oh marvellous. More of my social life to be non-existent next year.
Vita my rpg machine.. Wish my 3ds was region free
Dragon's crown, Freedom wars, Toukiden, Disgaea... just keep 'em coming Vita! All this wait...
There is so many good titles coming to Vita
If just Sony remove the 1 account pr. memory card, so I could buy from US without fearing for DLC release.
Sales in the west are still less than stellar, but the Vita's situation is beginning to look less dire. Tearaway looks fantastic and Mercenary is looking more and more like the Vita's premiere shooter.
There are a ton of other games coming out in a few months, like; Chronos Materia, Conception II, Mind Zero, Jump Stars Victory Vs and many others. While not all of them are exclusive to the Vita - Jump Stars will be available for PS3 - or have a low chance of being localized, they'll still be adding to it's library..
2014 is looking very good for the Vita since we're expecting Freedom Wars, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd, The Legend of Heroes VII.
@TheRealBatman Problem is that almost every single Vita game on the way is a cult series. The Vita doesn't need help attracting JRPG fans (for example) but does need to attract more "casuals" otherwise it's still screwed.
@rastamadeus Call of Duty is the only "casual" magnet that Sony has access to and we saw how well Declassified did. Cult series are really all Sony has, none of it's franchises have the ability to attractcasuals, so cult series will have to do.
Gaikai could give people a reason to buy a Vita if the improved RP works the way I think it does.
The mass (casual gamers) are never really interested in quality titles. I don't want the consistent quality of Vita games being lowered because it is "in" to have a Vita. If the Vita becomes more popular because people are starting to look beyond the mass-consumed games, no, I wouldn't have a problem, because it would imply the recognition of quality... It's nice to own a Vita, it is more intimate and free from bandwagon-jumpers, who always unconsciously destroy something great...
@rastamadeus Yeah, it's true. There's tons of cool stuff coming to or already out on the Vita, but none of its "system seller" stuff. Oh well, I'm really enjoying the library at the moment.
@get2sammyb I just wish Terraria would come to Vita already. I had planned on letting it eat my summer.
So is this game identical to the PS3 version?
Man I really need to get a Vita Ok, Its decided. In 2 weeks time, I WILL HAVE A VITA! lol Its insane the amount of Jrpg's Ive seen being announced for both the Ps3 n Vita these past couple of weeks for release within the next year. Makes me reconsider an early adoption of the Ps4. I wonder how long it will take for the Ps4 to start getting some quality Jrpg's?
now if only sony confirm bioshock vita is coming also...that would make my day man...
