Microsoft kicked off its E3 2013 press conference with a show stopper earlier today, revealing a brand new slice of gameplay from the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. The footage opened with Snake riding through a desert, demonstrating the Fox Engine-powered title’s impressive graphical prowess. From there, it transitioned into a traditional Hideo Kojima epic – with a perfect theme song to match.
Honestly, the promise of a massive world with new stealth options, realtime weather effects, and more is making us wilder than a desert animal. And despite debuting during the Xbox One keynote, it’s worth noting that this is definitely not an exclusive – regardless of what you may have read from Microsoft mouthpiece Major Nelson on Twitter.

Shame the video is massively boring. Obviously it will be brilliant but Christ the first two thirds of this trailer are dull.
Looks incredible, I definitely plan on play this.
Blew me away - haven't been this hyped for a Metal Gear game since Sons of Liberty.
I thought it was a good idea, starting w/ a traditionally Sony game. I actually thought this was going to be an offshoot western MMO or something exclusive to X1. Wonder if we'll get the same footage in 150 minutes?
@Savino I was thinking the same thing. I really like what they did with the character design. Especially the supporting cast looks extremely promising.
The graphics look amazing, but I don't want to shoot children.
@rastamadeus I understand what they were trying to do at the start, but agree it just didn't work. Should have been a tighter montage with music.
