Hall of heroes

Irrational Games’ stunning first-person adventure BioShock Infinite has ascended straight to the summit of the UK sales charts, trouncing its predecessor’s tally by a substantial 9,000 units in the process. While the release shot straight to the top, it couldn’t unsettle Tomb Raider’s record, with Lara Croft clinging onto the biggest release of the year thus far. Crystal Dynamics’ reboot settled in second overall.

Elsewhere, FIFA 13 dribbled back into a Champions League spot in fourth, while newcomer Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel sat back in sixth. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 approached the green in eighth, as Assassin’s Creed III dropped down to ninth. Sadly, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time barely made a dent in the chart, arriving in 31st position. That’s what you get when you needlessly delay a game that had next to no marketing in the first place.
